In a distressing incident fueled by marital discord, a young man allegedly slits his wife's throat in the Makardah Muslimpara area of Domjur. The couple, identified as thirty-year-old Belal Mallik and Afsana Sheikh, had been married for about six years and shared a history of frequent disputes.
According to local sources, the discord, stemming from various issues, including financial struggles, escalated to a violent climax around midnight on Tuesday. Belal, employed as a tailor, reportedly put a knife to Afsana's throat during the altercation. Following the shocking incident, he voluntarily surrendered himself at the Domjur police station.
Afsana Sheikh, the victim in this tragic event, was promptly admitted to Howrah Hospital for medical attention. The incident underscores the severity of domestic disputes and the tragic consequences that can arise from such conflicts.
